Information and Policies
- Library users may take up to five packets of seeds at a time.
- Seeds are “checked out” on the honor system, with the expectation that gardeners will collect and return seeds to the seed library when possible.
- A library card is not required to check out seeds.
- Children must be accompanied by an adult to check out seeds. Note: Seeds can create a choking hazard for small children and should not be consumed.
- West Florida Public Libraries are not responsible for mislabeling or misrepresentation of donated seeds.
- West Florida Public Libraries are not responsible for the misuse or mishandling of seeds, the viability of seeds or the accuracy with which seeds reproduce, as cross-pollination may happen during the course of plant production.
- Information about seeds has been obtained from the companies producing the seeds or from donating individuals. Planting instructions, estimated growing times and description of plants may vary.
