Calling all creatives! Want to make your own quilt? Try your hand at painting? Design a cool new gadget on a 3D printer? Now you can, for FREE, with your WFPL library card! 

STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. West Florida Public Libraries offers multiple STEAM Makerspace locations with a range of tools, equipment, and one-on-one classes to help you learn, discover, create, and connect.

Makerspace Locations & Hours:

Pensacola Library - Fiber Arts (sewing, quilting, and more) & Studio 1559 (art studio)

Hours: Tues–Fri: 10 a.m.–6 p.m. | Sat: 10 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Bellview Library - STEAM Lab with a 3D printer, embroidery machine, and computer software

Hours: Tues.–Fri: 10 a.m.–6 p.m. | Sat: 10 a.m.–3:30 p.m.

Westside Library - Traditional Makerspace with 3D printers, ChompSaws, and laser engravers

Hours: Mon–Fri: 10 a.m.–6 a.m. | Sat: 10 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Available for use by experienced patrons or schedule a time for a one-on-one basics.

Bella Prima Longarm QuilterPlease schedule an appointment to use.
Longarm Bella Sedere QuilterPlease schedule an appointment to use. For projects larger than a throw blanket, you will need to schedule at least two sessions.
Industrial Sail Rite FabricatorAvailable for use by experienced patrons or schedule a time for a one-on-one basics.
Singer Sewing MachinesAvailable for use by experienced patrons or schedule a time for a one-on-one basics.

Note: Larger fiber arts machines are only available at the Pensacola Library. For complex projects, appointments are required.

What types of programs are available?

We offer a variety of programs for ALL AGES including (but not limited to) technology basics, sewing classes, and scientific discovery-based programs.

What is offered in the Makerspaces?

We have 3D Printers, Embroidery Machines, Longarm Quilters, Sewing Machines, Silhouette Cameo Pro 4, Engraver Machine, Oculus Goggles, and much more! Please email makerspace@mywfpl.com to make an appointment. We offer 1-on-1 sessions as well as group classes.

Do you need a library card to attend events and classes?

All programs are free and open to the public; however, a library card is required to fully access the Makerspaces.

What ages are your programs designed for?

We offer programs for all ages and abilities. Please check the specific program description for age recommendations. Please visit MyWFPL.com to learn more.

Which Makerspace is right for me?

Westside Library’s S.T.E.A.M. Makerspace offers the widest range of tools, including 3D printers, laser engravers, embroidery, and soldering. Bellview features a 3D printer and a computer lab with Ultra-wide UHD monitors and gaming PCs. The Pensacola Library focuses on fiber arts and acrylic painting.
