Who is Summer Reading  for?
Summer reading is for EVERYONE- Babies through Adults.

How to participate in the Summer Reading Club program?

How Youth Summer Reading Club works:
- Registration for Summer Reading begins Tuesday, May 29 and ends Saturday, Aug. 4
- For every 15 minutes you read, color in a circle on your reading log.
- When you have ½ the circles filled in, visit the library (bring your reading log with you) to collect a prize.
- Once you have completed your reading log, collect your final prize and coupons and enter the drawings for the TOP PRIZES.
- Don’t stop reading! When you have completed your reading log, you will receive a bonus reading log. For each bonus reading log you complete, you get an additional entry to the drawings for the top prizes.
- To be eligible for the drawings for the top prizes, participants or their parent/guardian must have a library card with West Florida Public Libraries.
- The last day to collect your prizes or have your name entered in the drawings for top prizes drawing is Saturday, Aug. 4.
- Read whatever your heart desires (or have someone read to you), and attend our fun story times, STEAM programs, and performances by musicians, authors, magicians, jugglers and more!
- For kids and teens under 18: your goal is to spend at least 12.5 hours in reading activity over the summer. Read whatever you like: books, magazines, newspapers, signs - even cereal boxes! Everything counts including audiobooks and listening to and reading aloud to someone else.
- Collect a small prize when you reach the ½ way mark, and when you reach 12.5 hours you will get to pick a book of your own to keep.
- Keep reading to win additional prizes! When you finish 12.5 hours of reading, get another reading log for chances to enter the prize drawing at the 25 hour mark, the 37.5 hour mark and the 50 hour mark.

How Adult Summer Reading Club works:
Adults will have a separate Summer Reading Club. Escambia County citizens 18 years old and above can pick up a Summer Reading Club log bookmark at any WFPL location. Fill in the bookmark with the titles of books that you read or listen to via audiobook during the summer and return the filled-in bookmarks to any location. During the first week in August, partially filled in bookmarks will be accepted.
