IRS Tax Forms & FREE Help Preparing Your Taxes
Some IRS forms and instructions may be available at WFPL locations, but selection and availability may vary.
You can obtain copies of Instructions for Forms 1040, 1040A and 1040EZ as well as other products through:
- IRS.gov/Forms – to view and download
- IRS.gov/orderforms – to order tax products to be delivered by mail
- 1-800-829-3676 – to order tax products to be delivered by mail
Need help preparing your taxes?
There are several ways you can get the help you need in filing your 2015 tax return. You may even qualify for free tax preparation assistance.
AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free help for taxpayers with low and moderate income, with special attention to those age 60 and older.
The following WFPL locations and times are scheduled to host this service:
Between February 2, 2016 and April 12, 2016 (inclusive), on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Southwest Branch Library
Between February 1, 2016 and April 13, 2016 (inclusive), on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Please note that the last person is accepted at 1 p.m.

AARP membership is not required. The program is jointly sponsored by the IRS and the AARP Foundation.
This service is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and it is provided completely free of charge. Please bring with you:
- Your photo I.D.
- Social Security cards or other official documentation for everyone on the return
- A copy of last year’s tax return
- Your tax forms and information for this tax year.
If you have numerous receipts, please prepare a schedule of your deduction.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) is another program that offers free assistance filing taxes for those who are low income, elderly, or disabled. Spanish and ASL interpreters available upon request (but please allow 3 days notice). Volunteers are trained and certified by the IRS to prepare tax returns.
